F-Theta scanning
lenses are specially designed system of lenses which are used to correct the
scan-rate deficiency found in the standard flat-field scanning lenses. It is
achieved by combining several lenses thereby creating a specific amount of
barrel distortion. Therefore distance the spot travels across the flat focal
plane are expressed as a multiplication result of scan angle theta and
focal length. In that way scanning task is simplified and the need for
electronic correction is eliminated. F-Theta scanning lenses in combination
with galvanometer mirrors system and beam expander are ideal tool for laser
marking, engraving and cutting systems.
